Love, Joy, Peace, PATIENCE!

So we have our little bundle of joy Jackson finally home with us. He seriously is the cutest puppy in the world, words can not describe it. However, having a new little puppy can seriously try your patience. Or at least he's trying mine.

I can report however on a happy note that the cats are doing really well with our new addition. Yes there is a little bit of hissing but for the most part they are adjusting really well which is important to me because they are our babies too!

Anyway if you haven't seen him in person yet you should come over sometime. Just let me know in advance because I'm pretty much like a run-down mother of a newborn and I might want to like um shower before you come over haha

Three Years

I can't believe I've been lucky enough to spend the last 3 years loving and being loved by the man of my dreams!

Our marriage is NOT perfect but it is everything I've ever wanted and more... I can't wait for everything that the next few years is going to bring.

"People you might know"

So today I was on Myspace and that thing came up that lists people who you "might know" because your friends know them... and who should pop up but a former best friend of mine who I had to cut out of my life in the past year or so for, well, a lot of reasons but mainly because she had become someone I couldn't allow to influence my life anymore.

It was weird when I saw her name...

So you're right I might know her... but maybe I never knew her at all.

Hellllooooooo 2009

I won't waste your time blathering on about how I never update... I'll just get straight into it :)

Here is a little summary of what's been going on since my last blog post. It's been a LOT so get ready.

1. Christmas - This year Nathan and I went to my grandma and grandpa's house in Arkansas for Christmas. It was nice mostly because it was the first year we had Christmas with my grandparents since we've been married.

It was a little odd this year though and I think it was because we exchanged gifts but it was pretty much all on the down low like not an official under the tree with wrapping paper thing. I've decided that Christmas just won't feel like CHRISTMAS until I have a baby thus giving both sides of our family their first grandchild (and great grandchild) and forcing everyone to be super traditional and merry.

It was still nice though and I must say I did have a nice "season" I sort of felt like Christmas lasted about 3 weeks. All in all a good year.

2. Friends - So, it's seriously the weirdest thing in the world but over the course of my life I've never been able to hold onto one steady group of friends... my little circle always seems to be growing, shrinking or just changing in general. It's very odd.

Of course when I left LA I left behind a GREAT group of friends and they are people who I still consider some of my very best friends but other than that I don't know...

I'm not saying this in a "poor me" way because I'm actually not really sad about it at all just interested in the phenomenon. I'm starting to think it's me though... am I constantly changing and becoming a different person? Lemme know... Jenn I'm talking to you haha

Anyway I said ALLLL that to say that for the first time probably since my California days I'm feeling extremely positive about the group of friends I've acquired. Not that I haven't had good friends (again Jenn) but I'm just talking about the group in general. I really feel like I've weeded out pretty much all the bad seeds and all that I have left are awesome, fun, Godly people who inspire me and make me happy.... it's pretty nice.

3. My pink laptop!!! - So I've pretty much been wanting a pink laptop forever and this year for Christmas I FINALLY got one! It's so nice to have a computer that is all my own and since I work on my computer it's nice to have one that I can take to Starbucks or White Rhino or whatever and work on without having to borrow someone else's

4. New years - I love New Years... I don't know why but something about having a new beginning is amazing! Every year I vow to lose weight and every year I fail (usually by January 21st) But this year I'm working pretty hard at it. Ok so it's only the 8th but still :)

I have my goals written out which is something I usually don't do and I've been actually USING my gym membership which is a welcomed change, especially for Nathan who grumbles every time the $40 comes out of our account and I haven't been in a month!

So yeah, we shall see how it goes but I'd REALLY like 2009 to be the year I actually do it!

5. Jackson - Nathan and I adopted an ADORABLE puppy from a lady in Mesquite. He's a chocolate lab who we've named Jackson or "Jack" and I just love him to death! The only thing is he's still too young to be away from his mother so he won't be ready to go home with us until the end of the month.

If you know anything about me and Nathan you know that we loooooove animals and we've been wanting a dog for a while so this is just really exciting for us.

6. Babies!!! - If you think I go crazy for puppies you should see me around babies! I've pretty much wanted to become a mom since the day I got married (ok BEFORE we got married but I just wasn't gonna act on it haha) So this year we've decided we're going to start trying to have a baby. But not just yet. We're actually waiting until my birthday which is in October but still to actually have a date in mind... that's big for us!

7. Colorado - Nathan and I are planning a trip to Colorado for our anniversary this year... more details on that later but it will probably be the 21st - 26th

ok well that's pretty much my life right now, I know this was long but since I apparently only post once a month I thought I'd catch you up.

xoxo

loooooong update

I find it funny that I always seem to put off blogging because I "have nothing to blog about" but when I actually DO have stuff to talk about I still don't blog.

So here goes....

First let's talk Thanksgiving. We had a good one all be it a little dull but still a nice day of family and food. I pretty much cooked for 2 days straight. Which if you know me you know is perfectly fine with me. While cooking stresses most people out I find it to be really relaxing and enjoyable. I made all my pies and things the day before (pumpkin bars, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, spiced apple cobbler, and cranberry sauce) and made all the other things like stuffing, casseroles, mashed potatoes, yams, ham, sweet potato soup, turkey of course and probably a lot more that I can't remember on the day. Everything turned out well and of course we still have a lot of it left! haha

In other news Nathan and I have put a plan in motion to be able to move out of my parents house in about 6 months. It's just been too long and not that we don't have a good time because we do but it's just time to move on. We don't know if we'll be able to buy a house so we'll probably just rent which is fine with me. No more apartments though... they suck! When we moved out of our last apartment I made a promise to Nathan that we'd never live in another one again.

We're pretty much giving ourselves about 3 months to build up our income. and 3 months of preparation and saving after that. So by June we should be ready to go. I'm pretty excited.

Oh and in case you've been living under a big huge rock you should know that I am a huuuuuge Britney Spears fan. Tuesday her new album came out and I went to go get it that morning. I tried to go at midnight to Wal-Mart but they wouldn't give it to me even though I knew they had it! haha

It's really good, at least to me, lots of dancy fun songs. It's like her last album only better, again at least in my opinion.

Still on the Britney tip I also bought tickets to go see her in concert on March 31st!!! Could NOT be more excited! I've only seen her "live" once before. I put live in quotes because let's face it... it's Britney and she really hasn't sung live since like 2000 which with any other artist would annoy me to death but you just deal with it with Britney... it's her thing I guess lol

Also, Nathan bought me a new phone! It's my Christmas present but I'm using it now. It's a red Blackberry Curve 8310 and it's AWESOME! I had a silver razr before and I hated it. Maybe I'll actually start carrying my phone more often now that I have an awesome one.

Well I guess that's about it... I'm sure there is more but I'm sleepy and I should probably save something for the NEXT blog even though I have no idea when that will be haha

later gater,
Brittany

UGH! Must get better at blogging!

So I have no idea how I blogged every day on Xanga back in the day because apparently it's impossible for me to do it now...

I promise...

I really will try to be better...

So let's see, there are about a million things going on right now but seriously when it comes time to blog it just gets hard to think of them.

Things with Nathan and I are good. One of the things God has been working with me on is being happy and finding joy in the now. I can get in the habit of thinking... well when we move or well when we get out own place or well when we have kids or well when we have money.... we'll do X, Y or Z.

I'm constantly trying to remind myself that by doing that I'm missing out on a lot of the great things happening NOW rather than later. and actually... It's been working pretty well. I feel much more content lately. Yes, there are still lots of things I want but not so much that I spend all day dreaming and not enough time living.

I've also been working on being happier for people when they have the things that I want. In the past I would maybe be like 90% happy for them and 10% jealous... ok maybe 70% / 30% haha but lately I've been blocking out the jealousy and just working on being 100% happy for them and know that the blessings are coming for Nathan and I.

well I guess that's all for now.... see you tomorrow.... maybe... ok maybe not tomorrow.... uh.... see you....sometime

I warned you.....

So I warned you guys that I probably wouldn't update regularly.... and here we have it.

It's so funny how at any given moment I can have 9 million things rolling around in my head and I never put it in the blog and then when I DO blog I can't seem to think of anything to write about.

I've been wanting to make a blog about the things I'm loving as of right now so here goes....

1. Papi Jump - Nathan has this INCREDIBLY addictive game on his iPhone and it's AWESOME! I can't seem to get enough of it it's very very simple (the way I like my games haha) but I swear I could spend 2 - 3 hours a day playing it if I allowed myself to. If you have an iPhone... GET IT! It's amazing

2. New fall TV!!!!! - I must admit... I LOVE TV! Yes it is a waste of time and YES I could be doing more productive things but I seriously don't care, dancing with the stars, Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, Prison Break, Private Practice, desperate housewives UGH! I just love it

3. The Stand by Stephen King - I'm a horror/ thriller junkie and for some odd reason unknown to me I've never read a Stephen King book so this week I started reading 'The Stand' and it's AMAZING and might I add... over 1,100 pages and yeah I'm on like page 30 haha but still it's great.

4. The new Britney song! - Why oh why do I love pop music so much? I seriously have no idea but first it was my girl Christina who came out with a new song and now Britney! 'Womanizer' is sooooooo good. like old school Britney good. long live cheesy, dancy pop!

5. Cooler weather - Can I get an AMEN! I hate summers in Texas I'm soooo happy for my favorite time of year to start!

ok that's all for now! I'll TRY to blog more regularly for anyone who might actually be reading this :)

xoxo
